Have the RCE communities migrated to some socia-lame-dia platform or something? Where does everyone meet up these days...or does everyone have like one of those job things or something? Most of the forums are like ghost towns of late (no offense to anyone). Thanks.

All that glitters is not gold. Well, artificial intelligence is actually gold. Alas, it seems like it won't glitter in this era. A nice article by Kaspersky: https://eugene.kaspersky.com/2016/06/07/artificial-intelligence-artificial-truth-here-and-now/

Hello, I have been introduced to reverse engineering lately.I am fascinated by it and the history that lies behind it , all the teams, sites and the community in general.I've noticed that the community is not as alive as it used to be.I've hears stories by the people who introduced me(who are not part of the community anymore because they've retired years ago) that, the RE scene was a huge community back in the day, with dozens teams and active IRCs.What happened to all those people? Is the community still alive? Are there any teams out there?According to web archive site the SeeknDestroy's website went down in july 2015 , as a result of the shutdown of astalavista.ms si…

Hello, Just have a few (I think interesting) questions about relationship between RCE and law. Question 1: I know reversing commercial protectors (e.g. Asprotect) is considered illegal and prohibited via DMCA and similar acts in US and EU countries. But... when anti-virus companies have to analyse malware packed with Asprotect, they do reverse engineer it, they do unpack it, they do develop and use automated tools for this, they do research and defeat protector (Asprotect in this case), right? So, are they violating the law? How do they do that? I believe there is exception for them (who defeat protector for the purpose of fighting malware), so if this is the case, I have…
