http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/06/01/skull.art.reut/index.html Artist unveils $98M diamond skull LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Damien Hirst, former BritArt bad boy whose works infuriate and inspire in equal measure, did it again on Friday with a diamond-encrusted platinum cast of a human skull priced at a cool $98 million. The skull, cast from a 35-year-old 18th-century European male, is coated with 8,601 diamonds, including a large pink diamond worth more than $8 million in the center of its forehead."It shows we are not going to live for ever. But it also has a feeling of victory over death," Hirst said as the sparkling skull was unveiled to the public for the first time…

Well I just wanted to share alittle about myself, Im 34 yrs old, from des moines,Iowa. I use to code fluently on older system in the days of the trs-80 model I,coco,coco2,c64.128 and amiga 500... LoL wassnt much to do in them days with 64k,I recently started up again on the pc,and and vastly behind in assembly knowledge. Alot more to grasp.. all we had to use back then was kernal calls or write our own code to handle hardware through the IVT. (interrupt Vector Table). So enough of that,I have a question. What would be a good reference book for assembly, one that explains the use of API calls, along with actual register usage. and result values returned after the calls. As of…

After pandora shut its doors to everyone but the US, I've been trying to access it using a US proxy. I got this proxy using a site I say recommended here. The page loads, starts loading the player, than dies 3/4 of the way claiming an error their engineer's are fixing. Is pandora really down? or is this a cause and effect of my using the proxy? Here is my link if anyone cares to try it... http://ablehosting.info/nph-proxy.cgi/0001...3JhLmNvbQ%3D%3D ^^looks scary, but it does redirect to pandora - don't worry!

A widely available release, located at the usual pirate havens, from a scene group entitled 'NoPE' (which doesn't appear to have released much else) has quickly become the most highly sought-after asset of eye-patched, peg-legged, shoulder-mounted-parrot pirate types. Vista has been leaked in every conceivable form and in all its various releases and flavours, but has still remained difficult to crack for the average swashbuckling black-beard. Various timer programs forcing the activation to hold off indefinitely and other cracks haven't come close to the efficiency of the recent OEM BIOS emulation tool-kit that has floated about - but which is significantly more difficul…

Hi. I apologize if this subject has been talked about before, I did my best to search the board and found no obvious references. I am of course, a fan of Lena's excellent series of tuts for newbies and not so newbies, like me I do not know if this is a false positive, or a problem with the files, but every time I unRAR the downloaded Lena's files I get a virus report pointing to some file snd.nfo.exe identified as NewMalware.aj I have seen this behavior in two different computers, both using McAfee viruscan. Is this a local problem in my system, or some one else has seen this problem? Thank you

Microsoft: open source software violates 235 patents Microsoft claims that free and open-source software violates more than 230 of its patents, according to a magazine report published Sunday. In an interview with Fortune, Microsoft top lawyer Brad Smith alleges that the Linux kernel violates 42 Microsoft patents, while its user interface and other design elements infringe on a further 65. OpenOffice.org is accused of infringing 45, along with 83 more in other free and open-source programs, according to Fortune. It is not entirely clear how Microsoft might proceed in enforcing these patents, but the company has been encouraging large tech companies that depend on Linux to…

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-6114012.htmlIt?s not a good idea to risk with selling an illegal software if you live in the USA. The owner of one of the nation?s largest Internet software piracy Web sites has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison. Nathan Peterson, 27, of Los Angeles, sold products copyrighted by companies such as Microsoft Corp. and Adobe Systems Inc. at a huge discount on his site, iBackups.net, prosecutors said. The site began operating in 2003 and was shut down by the FBI in February 2005. In addition to Friday?s 87-month sentence, U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III ordered Peterson to pay restitution of more than $5.4 million and…
