Moved to a new server with better hardware and a new operating system. There is a short and long version as to why it took so long. Short version, it was initially planned to be only a few hours of downtime. Had it been successful most people would never know there was an outage. Unfortunately it turned to shit. Piecing together all the bullshit from the hosting company (and registrar for the primary domain) they had issues accessing and making changes to the domain to disable DNSSEC and point nameservers to the new server. When I purchased the domain decades ago, the hosting company was in its fledgling years and the domains have been held with a relic/ legacy product of theirs. It would seem between 10 months ago (when they last made similar changes for me) and last week they have either lost access or control to make changes to the domains. This is what I have pieced together after numerous calls and online chats with them to get it resolved... Ted. 4 4

a1683 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I have learned and benefited a lot from this forum and I am happy that it is working again. Thank you for your efforts. 2
jackyjask Posted August 8 Posted August 8 the *issue* you hit produced a very interesting sidetrack - a tg community! 2

Progman Posted August 8 Posted August 8 One very serious issue has occurred as a result of this upgrade. After the upgrade, I get this bizarre notice that "Your content will need to be approved by a moderator, please contact Teddy Rogers urgently as this shows a severe upgrade error has occurred". Otherwise, this was definitely a very nice upgrade, we'll worth the wait. Thank you Mr. Rogers for bringing such sunny days back to the forum. 1 1
Teddy Rogers Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 It has not been a cheap year for this site relocating twice within 10 months. Some quick maths would have costs currently sitting around $7K+ USD all up... 😢 Ted. 1 1 1
