Scylla app is freezed when i press on get imports and windows 8 cant find all the iat address, some of them are wrong

 

There are multiple bugs i noticed in scylla

1) some of the packers i tryed to get imports made the application freezed(i would attach some unpackme's later for it)

 

2) in windows 8 it cant find all the iat functions, some of the iat functions are wrong, but when you do the same on windows 7 and xp it works fine

the second problem is detected in impreq aswell

about first problem try untick 'Use avanced IAT search'

about second im only aware of GetProcAdress problem

anyway cant really test since im under Win7

@GIV: lol, Windows 8 is one of the best operating systems microsoft created, it is really much faster than windows 7. The only minor down is the metro interface, but who cares about that anyway?

its not matter if windows 8 is sux for reverse engineering, Scylla should work in all the versions of windows os

Nope. You don't understand the differences between OS es.

I tested it a little bit with win 8 and fixed some bugs. But to be honest, if you goal is to archive a good OS compatibility, you must use win xp or 7. Because a software that works on xp/7 will most likely also work on 8/8.1/10. The other way is not guaranteed... software working on win 8/8.1/10 will probably not work on xp/7.

 

Scylla is a reverse engineering app and should work on all OS, that is true.

 

If you find some more bugs, please be a little bit more specific.

What Scylla version?

What OS exactly? 8 64bit?

What unpackmes? Crashing when?

same issue on my side , i am using win8 64bit . all versions of Scylla  are freezed , even if i run as administrator .
