I have seen many people patching firmware and selling it on the internet, like this website:

Chipless firmware for printers Epson

I tried to download some original firmware and some patched ones with the same firmware version to compare them, but I couldn’t find any pattern. I created this topic because I think there are smart people here who can help me learn how to do this, at least in the beginning.

Thank you.

yeah, I know, but people don't even check the topic name before/after posting?....

@RADIOX: I'd start by reading researches about printer vulnerabilities and writeups for pwn2own. For example this: https://doar-e.github.io/blog/2022/06/11/pwn2own-2021-canon-imageclass-mf644cdw-writeup/ and https://www.synacktiv.com/en/publications/the-printer-goes-brrrrr. I'm sure there are plenty more. :)

I'm definitely not going to pay for a random patched firmware just to satisfy my curiosity. But if you could send me a PM with the files you got, maybe I will find some time to look at it during the weekend. No promises, though.
