VMProtect and Enigma comparision

Featured Replies

Hi, I have two questions:

1) Which protector is harder to unpack in your opinion

2) Which protector u encounter more times. I mean which protector is more popular

1) You shouldn't focus on packing in order to secure a program but more on virtualizing the important parts of your code.

2) VMProtect is more popular but that doesn't make it better as there are much more tools and information to get around it.

If you are going to protect a .NET application I wouldn't recommend you none of them.

@Priboi, for native or .NET?

I am interested in native but you can tell also .NET :)

Thanks guys

Polecam polskiego PELocka, ma 100 razy lepsze SDK i unikalne metody zabezpieczeń.

100 times better SDK? That's quite a claim 🤣

Anyway in the interest of transparency for the OP, PELock works only on 32 bit applications so as a protector is way behind the times

Also the recommendation above is by PELock author so is biased

Regardless of whether there is any merit to PELock or not, I fail to see how it is related to the comparison between VMProtect and Enigma, which OP was asking about. Let's stay on topic.

Here is my answer :

1. VMProtect is comparatively way harder than that of Enigma Protector.

Enigma Protector can not protect C# code with it's VM and other settings though You can use SDK to Protect Strings but can be analyzed by debugging dynamically. VMP VM on the other hand is pretty decent and now VMP supports Mutations/Embed Assembly/Virtualization of C#/.NET files.

If We talk about Native Files, VMP VM is so complex as compare to Enigma (considering RISC Max. Settings and all other Checks)

So, VMP is a clear winner in terms of Stability, Performance, Integrity and degree of hardness.

2. Clearly Enigma Protector is a winner.

Reason : due to the Warez/Cr4ck/Reselling.  Mostly people don't know how to use VMP SDK to apply HWID based Licensing on a compiled app so Warez Seller finds it very hard to use. On the other hand, Enigma is very easy to use and apply HWID Locks process is extremely simply so mostly people prefer Enigma over VMP because of lacking proper knowledge. Enigma have a plus point to make the Protector Noob Ready. Making Keygens, Protecting App, Licensing System is so easy to use and GUI base while VMP is not like that. This is why Newcomers which are in huger no. use Enigma.

Final Words :

If You are a Warez Seller and have Zero Knowledge of Coding : Enigma is there for you to help but If you want better security go with VMP btw I think Themida/Winlicense is better in terms of security for Native Apps. You don't need to buy some sketchy crap Protections which many people advertise and claim the best in the market.
