Hello Teddy,
if someone sends me several private messages without me responding in the meantime, the new forum engine merges them into a one message, and doesn't show me a notification when 2nd or 3rd message arrives. It causes situations when I inadvertently ignore someone just because forum did not alert me about the new messages. It also forces me to read old messages again and again - just in case forum engine decided to append new information to the message had I already read.

Is this something that can be fixed?

Sounds like merging of concurrent posts. Does this only happen when new messages are within one day of the first message? Subsequent messages greater than one day from the first post, are notifications received?

How could I possibly know that?  I don't get any information about merging happening or timestamps, I just see the final result.

There is no tracking of PM's. I have sent you some PM's to test (merging is disabled)...
