There are several bugs in your inject-me:

1) it won't run on XP at all;

2) due to your bad coding, it cannot be solved without patching VB PCode (I assume that you want us to patch only strings).

Correct check should be:

If InStr(key, " ") > 0 And InStr(key, "tuts4you") > 0 Then

Making it run on Windows XP:


 - Open file in a common PE editor (CFF Explorer)


 - Open Nt Headers -> Optional Headers


 - Change MajorOperatingSystemVersion from 6 to 4.


 - Change MajorSubsystemVersion from 6 to 4.


 - Save and it should run fine now.


 


As for the coding, I'd assume he compiled it as pcode on purpose.
