Can I Join Snd

You are a really talented GFXER but in the last times, we accepted many ppl to join the GFX DIVISION, but they just join and then left... Some of them because the reallife (it's one thing that comes 1st! and I understand perfectly), but others disappear without reason... :( It's sad but true! This is the reason that we aren't in the way to recruit more GFXER's...

@P34

Why do you release your gfx-stuff not - as usual - here over the forum? That's the best way i think! ;) If SnD is really in need of an new (or more) GFXer then they will contact you!

I think that having an active GFX division requires some motivation for GFXERS. I don't know how we can do it, but at least all gfxers must feel that their work isn't just for : "Well done" - "Great job" ... There must be a sort of rule or something that imposes crackers to use GFXers templates in cracks so that gfxers feel that their skills were useful to the whole community. If crackers will do so, i think that also having a gfxer status must be very challenging, because i think that we need talented gfxers.

I don't know, just my point of view :D

I'd have to disagree with you on this one SC. ALiEN uses submitted GFX

in i'd say a good 95% of his releases if not all. Not quite sure where

you've been but the sources are there to use. And yes, it is up to the

crackers to use the templates and like I said ALiEN is already doing so.

I see your point zero, but i think that not all of us are doing like ALiEN, because like you said "it is up to the cracker to use them". So a gfxer feels that his work depends on cracker choice "use or not use it". My idea is that he must be sure that his work will be used once and twice in many cracks not just one.

P.S : About where i have been, i talked to teddy about this many times that i have very important exams all this period. By the next two weeks, the exams will have finished. I have talked about this in VIP suite.

I'm all for using the GFX in our releases but we have had many, many GFX artists just join the team, do a couple of works then completely disappear - or waste our time.

Remember also that there was the discussion about setting up a GFX division but none of the GFX artists took time out to contribute or create any works specifically for this. We even supplied a few places for regular and safe hosting for this division and even had work in progress for webpage design but none of them took much more interest even though they all agreed a GFX division would be good. So the idea was dropped.

Even when Zer0 went to work setting up a portfolio on SnD Filez he had trouble getting work sent to him from GFX artists in the team.

I'm not going to tarnish every artist who joined SnD with the same brush but the group has been stung far too many times in the past...

I think it's already a gift snd is that kind of a open group somebodys work will used and the gfxer has the favour to decide what could be modified or discuss about here. Remembering some work I'd seen by others were spectacular for me (at the time) but no faq had really an answer on my question how this eyecatching things were made.

So enjoy the chance to learn and ask, sharing the ideas and the visual work

and think about what more kind of advantages you would get after you are named as a "official part of snd"?

I know I'm not an official SND team member, but I thought I would give my opinion on this as an official SND "enthusiast".

It's sad for me to hear that the SND Team has had bad luck with GFX'ers. I hope that SND will in the future accept new GFX artists to replace those that have dissappeared. That is, accept new GFX artisits who have proven that they are comitted and loyal to SND.

As far as "rules" for the coders to use the graphics.... In my time here at the forum, I've seen that each team member seems to have their own style. A coder may not want to use a paticular graphic due to his/her own preferences. As an aspiring GFX'er, I personally wouldn't want someone to be required to use my work. My motiviation comes from creating somthing that a team memeber "chooses" to use. This tells me that the work was beneficial. I'm also motivated by the team members making specific requests. I feel that requests would be a good way to provide motivate.... requests typically mean the work will be used, and also give the GFX'er direction on what they should create. for instance, if a coder knows that they will be releasing a keygen for a paticular program, they could request a keygen template for that program and the graphics would possibly compliment the release.

Anyway, just a few of my thoughts....

Thanks out to those team members who have used my GFX.

What does "joining" SnD really add to a GFXer? When their GFX is used this is always acknowledged in the About and usually on the GFX itself. In a way they join SND every time their gfx is used.

It would be great to see all the gfx that has been used in patches and keygens collected in a SnD gfx portfolio. But that would need some effort to maintain. I'd be happy to submit screenshots of new keygens if we could find a way to make this work.

I try to use as much of the good GFX as I can. Sometimes it's not easy to use a particular gfx because there is some problem with layout, buttons or whatever. So I wrote a "gfx for keygens guide" to help so good gfx designs could be used. (The guide needs updating but hey it's a start).

Sometimes it's not possible to use all the good gfx just because it takes a lot of time to make new keygens for quality apps. I don't want to see great gfx used on tired old apps that have been keygenned a thousand times before by every team on the planet. Quality gfx deserves quality cracks. Sometimes I only use a really great piece of gfx design with one or two special apps. Sometimes I have special gfx coded but waiting a long time for the right app to use it with.

Personally I enjoy seeing the designs and talents of the gfxers through the forum even when it is not used. There are good designs from a few gfxers right now (at other times there has been not much at all). I'm trying to use as much as I can.

@Ecliptic : Yeah i agree that requests may be a good motivation for gfxers but personnaly i think that this will take much more time to release cracks (if we say one request per one or two cracks lol). Just a thought.

I agree completely to Ziggy...I personally dont think that a label of of "SND TEAM GFXER" would make a vast difference bcoz if a guy/gal wants to make some art for the team , he will continue making it evn though he is not a part of the team...but yeah some sort of motivation is required so that he/she does not stop making , just thinking tht "man there is no use , no one would like it"

I think there should be a GFX request section and see the work of dedicated ppl around and it will also increase the quality of work as diff ppl have diff ideas for the same theme.I see the work of different teams and want that SND should have much better GFX than what we have as of now...cause the keygens and cracks appeal more with good GFX.

SND ROCKS!!

I wont stop with the skins i make. I do it for fun and i like it to do it. Im a serious gfx'er. I started with it when i was 13 years old, im now 16. But i agree there are a lot of gfx'ers who promise to do something and they dont do it. They dont know what they do. Look at the FAiRLiGHT team they had a lot of nice artworks. Razor1911 en cRo too. The most of them went do an artschool. The most gfx'ers i know just read some tutorials and call them self a hardcore designer. When I complete highskool Im going to an artskool. ;) And guys I have a hardtime now, I will make more keygens for SnD.

Ive been so busy with real life I havent even had time to make anything or even go on the computer. Hopefully I will get some time and submit some work for you guys to use. Also Its how the team feels about a GFX team and who they accept. Just submit GFX for the team and hope they use it or accept it :) .

Ziggy,

I am TRYING to put such a thing together on the SNDFilez site. All the info can be found in this topic in a sticky "Calling All Artists"

It's not my fault not that much is posted. All the information is there for the artist to send their work. Like I mentioned in the sticky I will not be running around the forum looking in ever topic to retrieve graphics. It's up to the artist to submit their own work if they want it posted and collected on one site. Ted went over this a little in one of his above posts.

I agree with you Zer0!! I think if the GFXERs want to see their work in the portfolio, they must have the preoccupation in send them to you (or any one responsable with the section).

The only thing that I'm seeing is that no one have this preoccupation... (or particulary some of them!).

I know we have great ppl working for us... doing such nice artwork and as I said before, I'm trying to use as much as I can and sometimes I can't use all because I try to make them with quality too... I don't like to release some keygen/patch without a good layout and I have this preoccupation...

As you all know, I have my own life too, but I can take some of my time and make screenshots from my rlz to send to you Zer0..! I think the idea to make smth like a 'GFX Galary' is a nice step (we have the portfolio that have the same action) but without the collaboration of all the active GFXERs this is not possible!

So I would like to call the attention of all of you to think about this to make sure if this is a good investment or not... else the work done will be for nothing!

I hope you did not think I was suggesting you were at fault in any way - :kick: Sorry it if seemed that way at all.

What I can do to help is start sending you screenshots of the gfx I use. There has been some wonderful gfx produced that deserve recognition. Maybe the artists are too shy
