Im thinking to buy a commercial protector, to protect an exe compiled file,i perfectly know any protection is 100% safe, but at least i want to reduce the chances to be cracked by the most of crackers, i have these main options:

-Asprotect

-Obsidium

-Private Exe Protector

Any suggestions??

**I need the protector be under 200euros and it has hardware id lock.

ASProtect has no good support ( i was one of ASProtect customers and they did not help me when i got problem or i need some help )

Obsidium is good but you should write some lines to get connected with License Engine

Private Exe Protector is ideal for Hardware lock and some similar stuff but it does not support Virtualization and Obfuscation any more ( in version 3.x it has some virtualization trick but not powerful as to be & in version 4.x developer of setisoft completely stop growing up of VM engine )

thanks Gladiator for ur post, but which one could be more difficult to unprotect obsiduim or asprotect?

Your welcome , obsidium also is much more better than asprotect , anyway there is so many automatic unpackers that helps a little boy to unpack your protected file without any confusion even you had used obsidium or asprotect

Artan is my protector ( i'm developer of artan protector ) , now artan just protect your file against reversing and license protection features such as time trial and hardware locking will be in next releases

Out of the three you have suggested I would put my money on Obsidium. I have personally not used Obsidium with Senselock dongles so I can't comment too much on that but I know it continues to be actively developed and the developer himself has always been helpful with information and advice when I have had questions or queries with it in the past. It's not what some people would call a "popular mainstream protector" (which has advantages in it's own right) as it often flies under the radar but it works and it's dependable at what it does...

Gladiator, I saw 5 posts from you and within those 5, I saw five advertising references to your protector.. Just let me get some spare time and I'll taste myself if that protector is as good as you claim it to be. I'll provide news

Yeah I find it truly weird.

Trying to scope out the competition or something Gladiator? :P

That said, Obsidium looks quite nice indeed, it has a x64 version which is good, though I can't wait for it to have feature parity with the x86 version.
