Chaos Computer Club claims to have "cracked" the iPhone 5s fin

The biometrics team of Germany's well-known Chaos Computer Club (CCC) claims it has"cracked" Apple's Touch ID system.

Touch ID is the fingerprint sensor and the associated software that provides a biometric lock for the brand new iPhone 5s.

Fingerprint readers have been common add-ons to laptops for many years, but never really caught on.

You have to look at it in reason. It's (currently) harder to duplicate a fingerprint than watching someone swipe in on or use a pin on their phone. Most people don't use lengthy passwords or encrypt their phones (on Android) anyway just for the sheer fact it's inconvenient. I think a layered protection with fingerprint reader to unlock the phone and then a pin/password combination to access restricted features or change settings would be ideal...
