It is Friday 7th of October and that means iPhone 4S is open for pre-orders. Has anyone pre-ordered one?

Has anyone bought or used a Nokia N9 much? I am really thinking about getting one as I love the OS and it comes with a lot of features as standard - including the fact it has the map pack built in to the phone. I would be interested in your thoughts as I think its one of the best phones out at the moment...

Here is the Lumina 800, it is a very similar looking phone to the N9 but running Windows Phone 7 OS, uses a different CPU and some features missing from the N9...

...I am not sure I could bring myself to get a phone using Window Phone 7 OS. Maybe when Windows Phone 8 is released? :dunno:

Never owned a Samsung phone running Android but I have had HTC's. Always rooted them and stuck CyanogenMod on...

this android stuff is all new to me..never really cared about phones until now because i actually have to..these days work doesnt call anymore..its all email related with pdfs etc..so i had to adapt finally..

but after messing with it for a few days it seems like a small computer litterally..only thing missing is overwriting the exe for sum stuff..lol

i wonder (after twiddling with it installing this and that) if "groups" will remove the stuff that apps like privacy blocker etc say is in there and not "good"...

still figuring it out..

hehe

I currently have a old samsung, but I only use it for the wifi, music, and web browser.

The LG 3D Optimus 3D O920 looks pretty dominant.. huge band coverage, android, dual core ARM with nice GPU, I'd only want a cell for the app dev, to make tools with for scanning and auditing along with measurement and convenience. stuff.

Well I would expect that qaud cores and five core cpus will be coming to cell phones in the next few years. That should be accurate as far as I know.

When I was in Singapore last week I ended up purchasing an N9 (two actually) just to check it out. If you want a good smart phone then it is definitely worth considering, I am quite pleased with it. If anyone wants to read my further thoughts on the device let me know...

They'll be out in Q4 2011 I think.

Currently the Android based P920 which is a dual core OMAP 4 is the fastest phone. None of them are fully utilized..it's all ARM based C++ firmware which lack optimization do to rush to market. Who needs a bulky ported microkernel+subsytem on a phone where battery life and responsiveness is everything?

I want a phone with digital or optical stabalization and night shooting on the camera, with GPS+google earth and maybe a temperature sensor? If I'm going to get $400 brain tumors I at least want usability..
