RC1 of IE8 finally turned up... any one tried it out?

Internet Explorer 8 RC1 is now platform and feature complete and this is your opportunity to be among the first to try out the new browser before its final release.

The Internet Explorer 8 provides a web browsing experience you will enjoy.

View any site with ease

Now you can quickly display websites that were designed for older browsers. Simply press the new Compatibility View button if you see display problems on a website like misaligned text, images, or text boxes. It's located next to the Refresh button on the Address Bar.

Visualize your search

Search smarter with detailed suggestions from your favorite search providers and browsing history. Let the Instant Search Box do the thinking for you as instantaneous image and text suggestions appear as you type.

Keep up with what matters most with Web Slices

Add a Web Slice and you won't have to go back to the same website again and again for updates on news, stock quotes, online auctions, weather, or even sports scores—now those updates will come to you. The new Web Slice feature provides up-to-the-minute information on the sites you care about most in one convenient place on the new Favorites bar.

Get things done faster with Accelerators

View driving directions, translate words, email your discoveries on the web to others, and more in just a few mouse clicks. Complete your everyday browsing activities more quickly with the new Accelerator feature.

Stay more secure

The new SmartScreen Filter lets you browse and email more safely by helping to protect against deceptive and malicious websites which can compromise your data, privacy, and identity.

Browse with more privacy

Surf the web without saving your history, shop for that special gift with confidence knowing your family won't accidentally find out, or use a shared computer without leaving a trace. Help protect your privacy with new InPrivate Browsing and InPrivate Filtering features.

It looks slightly different, seems they're drifting away from their minimalism hype again, ****load of buttons and menu items adding to the generally cluttered interface.

The only difference I actually saw are the non-Vista-style tabs (ie. not shiny anymore) and the private mode (just like the one in Chrome)

Then again, I dont use IE at all, just installed it in a VM.

Still useless crap compared to Firefox or Chrome but maybe it's an improvement for people who don't have a clue at all.

when i moved from ie6 to ie7 tabs were something great, and all i needed.

for test i installed 6 months ago ie8, well had to set it to behave like ie7 other way i couldnt use it.

another thing its ****ty live integration in everything, you search for something in google move to line text and this sucker auto searches and shows data connected to it.

whole right click menu is full of live options. sorry faster im thinking about move to opera than use IE8

things that i hate in IE after so many years:

it doesnt support que and resume downloads(its joke?)

default save on file option ie7 from earlier ie was changed to cancel instead of save(had to change resource to defbutton in ieframe.dll.mui)

what other people cry about its uncompatibility in css,styles,web2.0,3.0 etc

they are web programers and in 100% compatible opera page looks ok in IE it ****ups everything.

doubt they will fix it in IE8

still no integrated adblocker like adblock pro where you can ban domains or select window elements to hide and dont download again, like flash ****ty movies that make your cpu hot and cover whole screen.

earlier i used hosts file where you can redirect to local ****ers like those:

127.0.0.1 ad.bannerconnect.net

127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net

127.0.0.1 ad.firstadsolution.com

127.0.0.1 ad.fr.doubleclick.net

well with ban its better to use create own list than predefinded, due on so many i have to disable adblock to see content

also they think about better back button behaviour when you on map, back will back to prev position on map not previous page like google.com, but this needs also changing php asp scripts on webpages.

because i doubt IE8 can handle this alone
