Teddy Rogers
I came across this interesting little blog (rant) about UAC's "whitelist" in Windows 7. I think the blogger - Leo - raises a fair point:http://www.pretentiousname.com/misc/win7_uac_whitelist.htmlTed.
metr0
When Vista came and I discovered UAC, I also thought about pro's and con's concerning such a whitelist - funny to see it implemented actually. Generally, I don't think that such a whitelist is a good idea regarding the improvement of security; it's an improvement of usability, for sure, but I bet it's (easily?) possible to carry out own malicious operations from windows modules (by thread injection fe.)... It's a pity I don't have Win7, would be certainly worth checking out.
