aztecx
It's not so much the whole cracking games or programs thing that i'm into. Computers just amaze me and I just want to learn more and more about them. Cracking will always be to hard for me but respect to anyone that is actually talented enough to do it. It is an amazing talent to have. EDIT: i think the reason i never fully got into it was that i was doing it alone. No one to share my passion with. It's the same with music, music is only so good when your by yourself but when your able to enjoy it with your friends it becomes 10x better. Anyone else would call me a nerd if I started talking about this sort of crap and my gf's computer skills don't get more advanced than using word Edited August 12, 2008 by aztecx

DrPepUr
Well......I started out using cracks and keygens, a lot of which were bad releases with viruses and stuff......Until one day I needed a crack for somewhing and couldnt find it, so I started searching for tutorials instead and by time I had gathered enough knollege to crack the program I wanted, I was hooked. Wanted to learn more and crack other programs. Now that I have cracked all the software I personally wanted/needed the only justification I can come up with for my actions would be right in line with ap0x and human........ Because I can, and its cheaper than substance abuse Doc
mia
For me it is some kind of an addiction. I'm not a cracker but i wished to be one in the past, not any more. That may be the reason i'm still visiting the forums with no purpose other than just reading the postsmia... Edited August 12, 2008 by mia

aztecx
To the people that responded with 'because i can'. I mean you can do basically anything else with your life but what makes you choose reverse engineering over all of that?
ap0x
And who says you have to choose RCE over everything else? We are engineers in our soles, this can be a profession as any other. There are people who are lawyers, chemists, mechanical engineers and many many other professions working in RCE field. Not just all professions but all age groups as well. Doing this "because we can" means that we worked our butts off to get to that point, but that does not mean that it isn't fun. It just means that we do the things we do in order to learn something new, which in most cases defines both a purpose and a goal. So basically its just a greed for knowledge for purpose known only to one seeking it out. What makes me do RCE over all other things in life?... Its simple... I'm way better software/reverse engineer that I would ever be as a control engineer. Just doing what I know best...

Fungus
I do it because I find it interesting and challenging. I also like to know things that most people do not. How many programmers do you know that don't really have a clue how PC platform works? And it's fun, I get a rush when I do something, any other reason needed?
