lena151
What's the best app to use to create help files in CHM or Web Help file format? I have only used HTML Help Workshop from MS. It's free and easy to handle. It's not so recent but it works like a charm. If I remember correctly, the latest version is HTMLhelpworkshop1.3.exe. Again if I remember correctly, I tried WinCHM for a while but it has way too many unused functions and I threw it away after 3 mins for being way too complex for my simple mind lena151. Ziggy
Thanks for the help on this. I checked the others out but WinCHM is the only app with the capability to build Web Help files and single HTML as well as CHM. Only feature it doesn't have is a CHM decompiler. PowerCHM is a useful app just to decompile CHM. I'll stick with WinCHM BTW I have no idea why this topic was moved from "Prog and Coding" to "General and Off Topic" - WTF - makes no sense to me - move to trash now if you like. That was me, I don't understand why you posted it in Programming and Coding forum? I thought it was just a general question on CHM tools... Ted. Link to comment
Ziggy
Maybe there should be a "Programming and Coding Tools" sub topic for tools such as Compilers, IDEs, libraries and specialised programming development tools such WinCHM, Resource Editors, Installers etc which are of interest to coders.Z Edited February 29, 2008 by Ziggy Link to comment
