Preety nice looking skin, but it's a bit too square for your chosen theme I think, I think it would look alot better with custom region.

Hi Oricode

liquidx,

I got your pm. Here are my humble opinions.... The following is meant to help you learn and advance. First off, I don't think you should give up with the gfx. You have potential, and just need some more practice.

I didn't download the example exe, so the following is based only on the screenshot. I think the overall skin is too large, and all the edges are too soft and grainy. If you look at the edges of the buttons, dialogs, and fonts, you'll notice that they are not well defined. I also think the size of the buttons and dialogs are too large for the small text that is inside of them. The red "backup" text clashes with the green background. In my opinion, the only time red and green should be found together is at Christmas :D

Here is a challenge for you.... try to make a simple skin that has dimensions smaller than 500 x 500 pixels.

The concept is quite nice but as EclipTic and others have stated, the execution is a little clunky. You obviously have some creative thinking ability and hopefully through some practise that will be reflected in your work.

Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.

@LX

Of course not! Dont stop! Everyone starts off at some time..Ecliptic has already given the details on how u should proceed. What I would suggest is , try and focus on the colour harmony, then work on the details. It takes time to learn, and yeah there is no need to be sorry about it :)

I like sqaure shaped gui, But I think you could work on Fonts used for the text, its too blurry and they dont look clean and sharp, the effects used makes it look this way...

But overall good job for some one who is new to graphics, Keep making stuff and you will only get better
