Does anyone have a good graffiti tutorial? I've been searching all over, and can't find one. I just want to learn the basics, like drawing it with a wacon or something similar.

Oh. Yeah, I meant drawing it in photoshop. I just don't like using graffiti fonts/brushes, and wanted to make some more "original" stuff.

God, I know a good tutorial but I didn't find it, if I find it I'll add it via edit ;)

Here a logo of mine:

Click

Do you mean something like that?

Here I made all by myself, the font I done with the pen tool.

I can give you some little tips,

try to draw some letters with the Pen Tool (p),

then u can customize the letter, with grabbing an edge from the path, until you like it.

Add some filters and colors to the letters and, have a look for the details.

Damn gonna search this tutorial I saw it a long time ago, there it explains all very good :)

I'd do it in pencil first. Develop the letters individually, connect them, then bring it into photoshop (or whatever application you use). It helps if you tag (practice graffiti).

The photoshop stuff is extra and all dependent on what you want to do with the piece (ie, is it some sort of futuristic mech-look you are getting at, something organic, just stone 'breaks', etc, etc). Honestly, developing good form of the letters first ("simple" pencil lines is good), in my opinion, is most effective. Then I would layout the color scheme. Finally, I'd work out the detail.

  • 4 weeks later...

Try this make a fast sketch in PS and do the final lines with the pencil tool. When I started with PS I never liked it or used it, now man i LOVE THAT TOOL. For real graffiti well, you cant learn it from a tutorial because the hard thing of graffiti is controlling the can.
