Departure
Hi guy's this is just n00b question.... I was wondering how to get rid of the outline left when making a irregular shaped skinn, It leave a about 1 pixel outline from the colour that is meant to be transparent, I read Ecliptics tutorial and he said to work that part out for your self.. Please dont laugh too hard, It's my first ever DUP skinn I know it has to be done in photoshop some how, any tips or advice would be great... //Thanks Edited January 7, 2007 by Departure
Angel-55
if you try to transperate your Patch window it might work else try to edit the image your self and remove this line till it fits Great this might take a lot of work !!
Departure
Im sure there is something in photoshop you can do to completly seperate the background colour (pink 255,0,255) from the rest of the image so you dont get pixel blending of the pink background.I might be wrong, Thanks for your tip, I'll try it now and see if making the form transparent helps
ECLiPTiC
I've been asked this question too many times! I have plans on re-writing my tut to include the answer to this question and also some other tips and ideas.... such as how to make a custom about window. Anyway, I'm currently very busy with other projects, but I'll get it done someday. For now I'll just do my best to answer this question.First, let me say it's a nice skin.It appears that in this case, you did everything correct with creating your region, and with placements inside your resource. There may be several ways to get rid of the pink... I'll tell you the easiest way. This method will replace the pink with some other color (your choice). In the following, I'll tell you how to replace the pink with black. First create two BMP files, one with a pink background and one with a black background. Use the one with the pink background to create the region. Then use the one with the black background within the resource editor. Now when you put everything together in dUP and you'll see black around the edges instead of pink.Sometimes a solid color border doesn't look good no matter what color you make it, so you can get more creative. For the second BMP intead of a solid black background, make the background black around the gun, a dark brown by her dress, a matching color by her skin and hair.... you get the idea.I've also found this trick sometimes works: If you have the gun slinging girl as a seperate layer, duplicate the layer and scale the duplicate so its slightly larger. Use the smaller one to create the region, and the larger inside the resource editor.O.K. - I don't want to give away all my secrets.... lolHope this helps! Departure
Thanks guys it was very useful info, But i am still convinced it has something to do with Photoshop so the pixels dont blend into the background colour..Ill try out some of these tricks and report back to what worked for me
AK-47
I know it has to do with PS maybe there is an option somewhere in PSnot to blend the pixels.
Departure
I've also found this trick sometimes works: If you have the gun slinging girl as a seperate layer, duplicate the layer and scale the duplicate so its slightly larger. Use the smaller one to create the region, and the larger inside the resource editor. That seem to work pretty easy.... thanks..
