ECLiPTiC
I'm dumbfounded! There are some hard core gamers out there!I was watching the news this morning....The PS3 has been release for sale in the US. I guess there was a shortage of units shipped from Japan, so people waited more than 48 hours in line to purchase one. There are two different models, and the store prices are $500.00 and $600.00. They are now sold out. Of course they are now being sold for unheard of profits on Ebay. The last I checked (several hours ago) they were going for around $8,000.00! zer0buRn
Yeah, I heard that on the news also. I haven't checked eBay yet. Butits a ****ed up thing to do for gamer's who actually want the system instead of trying to make a profit from it. Those people are just greedy a-holes. Who waited in line to buy a system to turn around and sell it. Instead of the people who wanted the system so they could keep it and actually enjoy it. Teddy Rogers
Xbox 360 Kicks Nintendo Wii and PS3 *** in SalesMaybe this is what Captain Obvious would say but it gives me great joy to report that the Xbox 360 has surpassed both the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PS3 as regarding sales. What they lack in other areas, Microsoft makes-up for in marketing and bundles, so this is how the 360 registered larger sales than both its competitors. Of course, you would say that the fact that the PS3 and Wii are nowhere to be found was the main reason for this increase in Xbox sales, but who is to blame, if not Sony and Nintendo? As msn.com reports, Canada Microsoft Game Studios had a special Xbox 360 offer to counteract the effect of the Wii and PS3 launches. They offered three games, 20GB Xbox 360 plus an extra controller for just US$ 449.99. Not to mention the Amazon US$ 100 offer for an Xbox Core package. The release of Gears of War also helped, but we have to give this one to Microsoft for knowing exactly when to react. Keep in mind that the Xbox 360 was released almost a year ago, so we can’t consider it “hot property”. During a time when the whole U.S. is in a Wii and PS3 frenzy, the Xbox 306 manages to outsell them all. Well done!Ted.
Blah
NFL_Madden_2007_USA_BLUERAY_PS3-PARADOXWell everyone here it is - the world's first accessable PS3 rip ! | | (We heard someone released something but we couldnt find anything | | concrete so thought we'll release it anyways!) | | | | We may be quiet on the release front (Why do all the suppliers | | go to 'lesser' groups ?) but we here at PARADOX dont sit around | | doing nothing - OK maybe most of us do, but some of us actually | | earn our money and have managed to rip this little baby for your | | pleasure. Granted it may end up being a bad rip or even totally | | unusable like the initial PS1/2/PSP/XBOX/XBOX360 releases but | | without them I doubt we would be able to play them now. | | | | No doubt there will be many other groups releasing all the release | | titles but coz were skint and cant afford to buy em all were only | | gonna do the ones we managed to get from Blockbusters And as | | many as our 56k modems can upload this year
Blah
http://www.ps3news.com/forums/site-news/breaking-news-world-exclusive-ps3-news-39617.htmlTonight CJPC had some freetime and decided to install Linux Fedora Core 5 (PPC iSO) along with PS3 Other OS Installer and the kboot from the CELL-Linux-CL_20061110-ADDON.iso file. Once installed, he logged into the shell and dumped the Extended OS Area (which resulted in 4.0 MB (4,194,304 bytes) by using: dd if=/dev/sdb of=/extendedos.img Next up, CJPC connected his external USB HDD to his PS3 (since he only has a 20GB stock PS3 HDD) and just (6) days after launch proceeded to dump (read "back-up" to $ony) his Madden NFL 07 PS3 Blu-ray Game Disc (the resulting iSO image is only 7.08 GB (7,597,719,552 bytes)) via the following: dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/mnt/exthdd/imagename.img If you happen to own a 60GB PS3, you can use this command instead to dump directly to your PS3's HDD: dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/imagename.img The PS3 Blu-ray Game Discs resemble the PSP file format. With that being said, the PS3 Blu-ray Game Discs resemble the PSP file format. In other exciting PS3 news today, Radiskull let us know of a new AdvanceMAME .106 Binary For PS3 released by Jurai. It is basically the emulation code you'd need to use on the Linux in your PS3 to run arcade games, minus any ROMs, and please use our AdvanceMAME .106 PS3 binary is out! for related discussion. Finally, if you're seeking to add a *GASP* 750GB HDD in your PS3 then you may want to check out THIS (http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-chat/750gb-hdd- ps3-made-possible-39655.html) brief Tutorial on how to do it! The process simply requires both a SATA HDD and an SATA Male > Female extension (only $14.99 from CPUStuff.com). Sweet news indeed, and more to come soon!
