Welcome to Tuts 4 You!

Before you browse through our forums to create topics and posts it will be helpful for you to know some things about the way our board works and it is very important that you read all our rules to avoid a suspension or a ban. We do not like to impose suspensions or bans but we do need to keep up the integrity of the board, whether by accident or by design you risk being punished if you do not follow and adhere to these rules.

While there may seem to be a lot of rules if you have a good read through them you will find all of it is common sense.

01. Board Etiquette

Here are a few handy hints for people new to our board and boards in general:

  • Posting tips... are located at the top of some forums. It is important you read these to save your topic or post being trashed.
  • If you have nothing to add in a topic and only want to say a thank you vote the post up by clicking on Posted Image
  • Using good spelling and grammar presents your topics and posts in a clear and constructive manner helping people to understand you better.
  • Always provide as much detailed information as you can. It will help to ensure you receive an appropriate level of response.
  • Don't shout by typing with caps lock enabled. It is considered rude and no one wants to talk to people who shout loudly.
  • Always remain polite even if you find another member is not being polite to you. Administrators and moderators will deal with unruly members.
  • Creating topics and posts in the appropriate forum help to ensure it gets answered promptly.
Please watch this short Shockwave Flash movie for additional tips on board etiquette, "Posting and You".

02. Board Rules

  • This is a family board and we expect all members to conduct themselves accordingly.
  • No flamming or disrespect to other board members including religious, political and racial abuse.
  • No obnoxious or obscene material to be posted anywhere on the board.
  • The posting of cracks and keygens in to topics and posts is not allowed.
  • Links to scene "warez" is not tolerated only links to legitimate and legal downloads are allowed.
  • Do not ask or request a tutorial. It is better to ask your question (in an appropriate forum) to solve a particular problem.
  • Topic title and post descriptions must not contain references to commercial applications, if they do they will be trashed.
  • Binaries containing any type of commercial content must not be uploaded to the board. Posts will be deleted and you will be warned or banned.
  • Posts that look suspiciously like crack requests will be moved to the Trashcan and you will be banned from this board.
  • Posts are treated as crack requests if you; request a tutorial, file to be unpacked, or request a file to be analysed without providing your own detailed research.

03. Restricted Members (Locked Junior)

If you abuse the board you will be placed in to the Locked Junior group. The restrictions in Locked Junior group are there to impede your enjoyment of our site and are there to protect other board members from your abuse.

Some - but not all - of the possible restrictions for Locked Junior members are:
  • Private messaging (PM) and emailing.
  • Viewing of user profiles.
  • The use of the Shoutbox.

04. Additional Board Features

Gallery - gives board members the ability to upload and host snapshots, graphics and artistic works. It is easier to view graphics en-mass in the Gallery than it would be via individual forum topics. It can be used to host wallpapers, screenshots, desktop screens, funny photos, etc. Maximum dimensions of uploaded images is restricted to 1920x1536.

Downloads - allow board members to upload their files and works making viewing and sharing en-mass a lot easier. The Downloads page automatically creates a new topic in the appropriate forum for you. This means you can upload your files to Downloads and not have to worry about creating a follow on topic in one of the forums. The new topic will provide a direct link to your download with a screenshot. Downloads supports various categories; scene demos and intros (up to a maximum of 20MB), keygen and patch templates, ANSII artwork, chiptunes, icons, fonts and various other categories.

Blogs - can be about anything you want providing that it does not breach the board rules and does not become an issue. Blogs must not be used as an a -> b -> c -> guide to cracking commercial software. All board rules apply to Blog entries. Unused (including empty) blogs will be deleted.

Shoutbox - makes it easy for members to communicate with each other in the community. Note, only members with a minimum of five posts are able to use this feature. All board rules apply, anyone caught breaking these rules will be banned from the Shoutbox.

05. Help and Support

If you require additional support or information please try searching the board help topics:

  • The Search Button - Use this handy fellow to find topics and posts of discussions long gone by.
  • The Help Button - Use the help files to educate yourself on how to use the board.

06. Personal Details and Profile

All members can configure and change their personal details and profile. To do this go to My Settings. You will find on the left side of the page a control panel with various options. If you need further instructions on what the features are and how to use them please consult the Help files.

Some other options available to you:

  • Members with at least 1 post can have a custom title
  • Email addresses can be changed and updated but they must always be verified
  • Display names can be changed once every 30 days.

07. Logging in to the Board

This board is different to others in the way you are required to login. All members must login using their email address and password. Not username and password.

08. Attachments and Scene Warez

No attachments must be uploaded which contain commercial copyright material - binaries of any type. An attachment containing commercial copyright material will be deleted immediately or at the moderators discretion the topic/post may be trashed. Scene warez containing cracks and commercial content is not tolerated here. This includes bug reports for scene released material.

09. Banners / Signatures / Avatars

Members are allowed to customise their avatars, signature and have banners. Please keep your banners and signatures reasonable both in size and content. Any signatures and banners containing political, racial or religious references and strong images may be offensive to others so please think before using it. If complaints are received you may be asked to remove it.

10. Crack Requests

This is a serious reverse engineering community for people who have a real interest in reverse code engineering. It is not aimed at people seeking the removal of a protection from a specific commercial application. We take crack requests very seriously, anyone requesting a crack in any of the forums are banned immediately.

11. Spam and Bots

Spam and bots will not be tolerated on this board. Any "member" spamming the board or found to be a bot will be banned immediately.

12. BBCode

BB Code is a quick and easy way to add effects or formatting to your posts. It is used in a similar format to HTML tags which you may already be familiar with. Here is a quick guide on the BB Code.

13. New To Reverse Code Engineering?

We regularly receive questions from people about where they should begin trying to learn reverse code engineering. If you are new to reverse engineering one of the most popular series which introduces you to the subject and commonly used tools is Lena's Reversing for Newbies. You can find the entire index of the series with download links by clicking through to this topic.

14. Complaints and Moderating Issues

If you have a complaint regarding the moderating of a topic or post please contact on Administrator with details and reason for your complaint. General questions and queries can be resolved in the Bug Reports & Technical Issues forum.

If you are not registered to the board or lost your ability to send private messages (PM's) through the board you can contact an Administrator by going to the Contact Page.

15. Finally!
